Renewal Procedures
The purpose of certification renewal is to encourage our members to continue to stay educated in the newest research and techniques in the field, and to re-affirm the fitness safety principles that they learned in their initial certification.
- Your initial certification is valid for two years following your original certification date.
- After your initial certification expires you will need to renew your certification every year.
There are two requirements to renew a certification:
1.) Eight Continuing Education Credits (CEC’s). You earn these credits by attending any of our workshops or conferences. If you are Certified in Personal Training, feel free to attend any of our other courses. Whether you have an interest in Yoga, Pilates, or Sports Nutrition, any of these courses will fulfill your credit requirements to renew your AAAI/ISMA certification.
2.) Payment of the $20 renewal fee. This fee can be paid by clicking here.
YOUR CERTIFICATION DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY RENEW UPON CREDIT COMPLETION!
Attendance of any of our workshops or conferences earns a minimum of eight AAAI/ISMA CEC’s. Members who are attending a workshop for the sole purpose of continuing education are not required to take the exam at the end of the workshop to obtain CEC’s. Though, feel free to take the exam if you would like to get certified in what that class has to offer.
Obtaining eight CEC’s will allow you to renew all of your current certifications, but you will still need to pay the $20 Renewal Processing Fee, per certification, per year.
