This course will be held online via the Zoom Platform.
“Unbreakable” equips fitness professionals with trauma-informed principles to create safer, more effective movement experiences for clients with trauma histories. Participants will learn how stress physiology interacts with exercise, how to spot red flags, and how to adapt coaching, cueing, and programming to reduce triggers and build resilience—without stepping outside your scope of practice. The session blends short lectures with demos and case scenarios. You will leave with plug-and-play checklists, scripts, and session templates you can implement immediately.
Learning Objectives:
- Explain (in plain language) how trauma and chronic stress affect arousal, breathing, posture, and recovery.
- Apply at least five trauma-informed coaching behaviors (choice, consent, language, predictability, pacing) in a session.
- Modify and apply exercise selection, intensity, and environment to reduce triggers and enhance regulation.
- Identify red flags that require pausing activity and/or referring to a licensed clinician.
